Traditional Chinese Calligraphy Workshops

Two ONE-day CALIGRAPHY courses

You are invited to participate in one or both of the above courses which will be taught by Master Satomi Arima. She began learning at the age of 3 and has over 27 years of experience and has won various national calligraphy competitions in her native Japan.

This art form originates from the East. To write well with a brush, the calligrapher must have a very high level of control of their mind and body. The concentration and energy needed to become a master in calligraphy can be compared to the concentration needed to become a martial arts master – this is the essence of Gong Fu.

Participants will learn the basic brush strokes combined with the correct breathing techniques. It is suitable for anyone and we hope you will take this opportunity to learn about this wonderful art.

Participants will receive a full Calligraphy set as part of the workshop.

Members £40 both days, £25 one day
Non members £60 both days, £35 one day
